The chainsaw arm chair balances rough carved mass with geometric tubular ‘lightness’. Each uniquely rough chainsaw carved seat is surprisingly comfortable, with a relaxed angle and supportive curves. The roughly carved seat is sanded smooth, leaving evidence of the tool marks on the wood. The massive log is set on top of a brushed steel tube base, showing the contrasting methods humans leave their marks- free hand carved vs. machine extruded.
